{"id":311,"date":"2013-09-08T10:31:22","date_gmt":"2013-09-08T10:31:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jameswmfrank.commemoratemylife.me\/?p=311"},"modified":"2017-11-20T20:24:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-20T20:24:00","slug":"passing-friends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jameswmfrank.commemoratemylife.me\/?p=311","title":{"rendered":"On Passing of Friends"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Lest We Forget<\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1370\" src=\"https:\/\/jameswmfrank.commemoratemylife.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/BABINEAU.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"682\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Raymond Babineau<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Was it yesterday or the day before that we met?<\/p>\n<p>There was so much ahead to see, no need to revisit, only new<\/p>\n<p>Friendships came easily and we thought they would last forever,<\/p>\n<p>Na\u00efve or strong belief that it could be different than our parents<\/p>\n<p>Days seemed endless, and nights only a fleeting moment<\/p>\n<p>Each day was a vacation<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome day\u201d seemed so far away, like Ferlingetti footsteps in the sand,<\/p>\n<p>Making a difference was the most important<\/p>\n<p>Then life got in the way.<\/p>\n<p>Rolling Stones\u2019, Keith Richards said that life is what happens when you are making plans<\/p>\n<p>For something else<\/p>\n<p>One day speeds into the next, like running water from a faucet, continuous<\/p>\n<p>Pictures remind us of our past, lost, but not forgotten<\/p>\n<p>We resist even taking a picture so the reminder cannot be cast as a shadow in our way<\/p>\n<p>Some are melancholy, some never think.&nbsp; It\u2019s easier that way.<\/p>\n<p>That way there is the numbness that can keep us from thought.&nbsp; It\u2019s called routine.<\/p>\n<p>Like doing door to door.&nbsp; Bedroom to bathroom, bathroom to kitchen, kitchen to car,<\/p>\n<p>Car to office, office to office, office to car, car to home, home to solace, solace to sleep,<\/p>\n<p>Only to repeat like the emails that won\u2019t go away<\/p>\n<p>The reason to play is for the one shot,<\/p>\n<p>Like golf, there is one that keeps us looking for the next.<\/p>\n<p>Of course there are the kids.<\/p>\n<p>Just the thought makes the eyes sweat because men don\u2019t cry.<\/p>\n<p>The vessel of Hope holds so much<\/p>\n<p>A cornucopia and a cacophony,<\/p>\n<p>Like constant alliteration that runs off the page onto the next<\/p>\n<p>Then being positive, sometimes, just sucks<\/p>\n<p>Wallow can feel so good, like the warm feeling of relief as a young child in the middle of the night<\/p>\n<p>Fatigue makes cowards of us all<\/p>\n<p>Cause without contrast, how can we know the bold colours<\/p>\n<p>Brian Tracy says that life is a series of problems, occasionally interrupted by catastrophes<\/p>\n<p>Looking forward, however, has the best rewards, like blue ribbons that can line the walls<\/p>\n<p>New friends, new day, new-ness<\/p>\n<p>The freshness of knowing the world is better off because we\u2019re here<\/p>\n<p>Reminding us that all is well, not missing<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn touch\u201d can cost so little,<\/p>\n<p>Even Hallmark has no corner on the market<\/p>\n<p>A note, a photo can hold so much thought and memory<\/p>\n<p>Like a run-on sentence that doesn\u2019t stop for a breath for fear of interruption<\/p>\n<p>The best memories are the ones with sweetness<\/p>\n<p>Worth the revisit<\/p>\n<p>Was just thinking of you, then<\/p>\n<p>God Bless<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lest We Forget Dr. Raymond Babineau Was it yesterday or the day before that we met?
